That's the goal The Empathy Project walks you towards.

"The culture is kind and inclusive - it's wonderful." As the person responsible for Student Wellbeing, this is what you want your families to say.

Achieve it with The Empathy Project, a digital resource for primary schools that builds social and emotional intelligence using a combination of neuroscience research and The Arts.

A Musical Theatre Show

4 Lesson Plans & Videos

Psychotherapy and Creative Arts Expertise & Support

The Full EMPATHY PROJECT Experience.

A classroom resource for K - 6 that will enhance the environment within which children learn and grow.

01 Easy to Implement

Designed to provide schools with a 'Press Play' resource, The Empathy Project will cover your SEL, Critical and Creative Thinking and Drama and Music curriculum.

02 Imagination As Entry Point

The resource starts with an animated musical story featuring relatable, diverse characters facing challenges familiar to children.

03 Challenges like...

  • Feeling scared, embarrassed and envious
  • Being different
  • Not understanding emotions
  • Not sure how to help a friend
  • Getting stuck in a feeling

04 Relatability Builds Trust

After watching the musical, the children will feel a natural connection with the Musical Sprouts characters and a familiarity with the concepts they'll be exploring. Warmed up and ready to learn.

05 Workshops? Playshops

Led by the Musical Sprouts characters via short videos, the students participate in activities based on neuroscience research and psychotherapy expertise that engage their whole bodies.

06 Tools for Teachers

Within the show there are 4 props that are popular tools in psychodrama to assist with behavioural management. We will show you how to use them so you can spend more time teaching and less time disciplining.

The workshops initiated thoughtful conversations amongst our students and a deeper understanding of the impact of emotions on themselves and others.

What's my investment?

The Empathy Project works best as a whole school approach to Social Emotional Learning. Teachers are provided with practical tools and props that will assist them to manage daily behaviours and will deliver the best results if used across the board.

However, if you'd prefer to focus on a particular age bracket, we have you covered.

We have tailored The Empathy Project to enable kindergartens to deliver a simplified version that is age-appropriate for 4 - 5 yr olds.

Prep - Grade 3

Preps are practising independence and forming friendships. Grade 1 - 2's care more about opinions of others and are developing their curiosity. Grade 3's are able to step into another's shoes and understand more complex emotions.

Grades 4 - 6

At this age, children are on the cusp of puberty and navigating the world of friendships on and offline. They need help to cope with uncomfortable emotions so they can develop a strong sense of self in preparation for high school.

Whole School

For only 20% more, you can engage every student in The Empathy Project and foster an inclusive culture of understanding across your entire school.
